Role Description
As a Data Fusion & AI Engineer, you operate at the intersection of sensors, data architectures, artificial intelligence, and operational use within a TRSC context.
You design and deliver solutions that fuse heterogeneous sensor data (UAS, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance sources, external feeds) into reliable, time-critical situation understanding for operators and commanders.
You are expected to actively use AI-aided development tools to accelerate modelling, prototyping, and iteration while retaining full ownership of assumptions, validation, and system behavior under stress.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement multi-sensor, multi-source data-fusion pipelines
- Develop and apply AI / machine-learning models for detection, classification, tracking, and context generation
- Integrate georeferenced data, imagery, and metadata into coherent operational views
- Contribute to TRSC chains, from sensing through decision support toward effectors
- Design edge and hybrid architectures where latency, bandwidth, and resilience are critical
- Validate and improve models based on exercises, mission data, and realistic scenarios
- Apply AI-assisted development workflows for experimentation, refactoring, testing, and documentation

Background & Skills (Indicative)
- Education at BSc or MSc level in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent demonstrated capability
- Strong foundation in data fusion, sensor fusion, probabilistic methods, or machine learning
- Programming experience (e.g. Python, C/C++, Java) and experience with data and ML frameworks
- Experience or strong interest in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, UAS, geospatial data, simulations, or edge computing
- Hands-on use of AI-aided development tools in daily engineering workflows
- Ability to translate models and assumptions into robust, fieldable systems
